Is there a difference between the Complete Course and the Complete Course, Professional Dancer Discount?
The only difference between these two courses is the fee. There is no difference in amount or type of classes.

Do I qualify for the Professional Dancers Discount?
Under Professional dancer is understood that the Dancer has to be currently, or has been, under contract with a professional dance company for more than one year. Please send us a copy of your contract with a professional dance company along with your application form. No exceptions can be made.

How do I know in which level I will be?
Participants will be carefully assigned prior to the start of the course to their level depending on their qualification, experience and age (minimum age 14 years for Ballet Summer Course BERLIN & minimum age 9 years for Ballet Masterclass MAINZ), to guarantee the highest possible level for all involved. If a participant does not correspond to the level he has been assigned to, the ART of staff will, after deliberation, assign the participant to a more adequate level. We will tell you in which level you are during your registration on the first day of the Summer Course?

What are the age limitations?
All participants must be 14 years or older on the first day of the Ballet Summer Course BERLIN and 9 years or older (maximum age 18 years) on the first day of the Ballet Masterclass MAINZ. All participants under the age of 18 on the first day of the Summer Course or Ballet Masterclass are required to send us the parental consent form »Authorization for underage person« filled in by their parents or legal guardian by email or by post two weeks upon receival of the confirmation of letter.

What is my Course ID?
You can find your Course ID in your confirmation letter. You will need this ID during your registration on the first day of the course, after your registration you will receive from ART of staff your Course ID card.

Why will I receive a Course ID card and why do I need it?
During the entire duration of the ART of Course you will have to carry your Course ID card with you at all times since you will need it to enter the Course buildings. For security reasons, you can be asked to show your Course IDcard at all times by the ART of staff.On your Course ID card you will also find your Group.

Does the ART of offer scholarships?
Unfortunately ART of does not offer scholarships. If you need any additional information or a certificate of acceptance to our course in order to apply for a scholarship, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Is food provided?
Ballet Summer Course BERLIN
A canteen is available at the Ballet Summer Course BERLIN buildings. The canteen will be open between lunch break. Two different warm meals will be served daily (one of which vegetarian) in addition to which a wide variety of snacks and drinks will be served. Prices for a meal are between 3,50 - 7 Euro.

Ballet Masterclass MAINZ
Lunch will be available during lunch break every day of the week and is not included in the course fee. Meals have to be pre-ordered as well as paid for beforehand.
To order meals, please fill in the »Lunch Order« section on the Application Form. You will find a daily choice of cold meals, snacks and drinks. The student will then receive their personal daily lunch box. Once ordered and paid for, it is unfortunately not possible to change your lunch order.

Water bottles are available during the day.

When should I arrive on the first day of the Course?
Classes will start at 10am. In order to allow yourself enough time to go through registration, change and warm up, we recommend you to arrive at 8:30 (start of registration).

How will my schedule be?
The Course will start every day at 10am. and end at 6pm. Except on Saturday when courses will end at 3pm. Sunday is a free day.

What should I do with my valuables?
The dressing room lockers do not close. We strongly recommend you not to bring any items of value to the Course buildings. »ART of« will not be held responsible for the loss of any property.

I have an injury, can I still come to the course?
No. No candidate can attend the course injured. No exceptions will be made.

In which cases can I have a refund?
ART of reserves the right to retain all or part of the course fees in case of the applicant’s withdrawal.

In which language will the course be given in?
Courses will be given in English. The ART of staff speaks English, German, French, Russian, Japanese and Dutch.

How do the Company and School Auditions work? (Ballet Summer Course BERLIN)
During the duration of the ART of - Ballet Summer Course BERLIN we have invited many different directors of renowned professional dance schools and companies. The invited directors will come at different moments during the course. They will watch classes in order to recruit dancers for their company or school. We cannot tell you when which director will come.
