OLAF HÖFER

TEACHER STATE BALLET SCHOOL BERLIN
started his training as a stage dancer in 1964 at the Berlin State Ballet School and graduated 1971, after graduation followed an engagement at the theater in Stralsund. He later moved to Erich Weinert Ensemble, where he worked for many years as a solo dancer. During this time he appeared as guest soloist with the Berlin Comic Opera under the direction of Tom Schilling. Before the end of his dance career in 1986 he began teaching at the State Ballet School in Berlin where he still works, and has successfully prepared many classes for the final exam . In addition to his work as a ballet teacher, he has worked at the Friedrichstadtpalast since 1990 and later when the MDR Television Ballet, as Training`s master. He has also prepared many colleagues and students successfully for ballet competitions.
Since 1992 he leads the University of Utah with the Ballet West Academy and the State Ballet School through a continuous exchange of students. In this exchange, he has not only taught the students in Utah, but the Ballet Company of Ballet West in Salt Lake City as well. He has taught for several years at the Ballet West Academy Summer Program.
